Enjoy this Fall, the Season of Reading, with New Books by a famous writer
Cormac McCarthy released two books this season. It’s been 16 years since he published The Road and won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. McCarthy is considered one of the greatest contemporary American novelists. The first, The Passenger, was released on October 25 and the sequel, Stella Maris, is scheduled to be released on December 6. This is the official introduction to the book.

A Chilly Night with an intriguing Play
2:22-A Ghost Story is a supernatural thriller play written by award-winning writer Danny Robins and directed by Matthew Dunster. Here is the plot.
Jenny (Constance Wu) believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam (Finn Wittrock) isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren (Anna Camp) and new partner Ben (Adam Rothenberg). Can the dead really walk again? Belief and skepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer. So, they’re going to stay up until 2:22….and then they’ll know.
It won all three of the WhatsOnStage Awards and was nominated for three Olivier Awards. The play runs through December 4 at the Ahmanson Theatre. Tickets are on sale and start at $40. If you’re interested, look at this site below!

Classic is back!
Snow White is back in a new adaptation. The story is focused on what really happened after her new mother took over as queen. With six of the seven dwarves missing, she and one dwarf play all the characters themselves. Two actors take on all 14 roles on stage. It adapted by Greg Banks and directed by H. Adam Harris. Previews start on November 4 and ends on November 10, and regular performances lasts until November 20. It’s held at the Theatre for Young Audiences & Families, especially Julianne Argyros Stage. The running time is less than 90 minutes. Tickets start at $28 and you can get it online.

Are you looking for marvelous exhibition? South Africa based artist, William Kentridge will open his monographic exhibition William Kentridge: In Praise of Shadows starting November 12th at The Broad. This exhibition includes more than 130 drawings, sculptures, tapestries, and animated films, etc. Those works show Kentridge’s long-lasting political engagement, with digging up the neglected histories of Africans and Africa in World War I.
If you want to listen to the artist’s behind stories, you can also join The Un-Private Collection: William Kentridge+Claudia Rankine on the opening weekend. Rankine is the author of five books of poetry and co-founded The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII). In this program, both Kentridge and Rankine examine symbols and monuments as they appear in our respective societies, rooting out colonial and racist structures. The Un-Private Collection is an ongoing series of public programs The Broad began in September 2013. The series introduces audiences to the museum’s 2,000-work contemporary art collection by showcasing stories behind the collection and the artists. The exhibition is until April 9, 2023, and tickets are available now. Don’t hesitate to take this opportunity!
