Hiking to Waterfalls in L.A.

L.A. is not short of hikes, with so many options with views of downtown, the canyons, the ocean, and well anything you can imagine. When was the last time you saw a waterfall in L.A.? The waterfalls may not be equivalent to Hawaii, but we think a weekend hike to a waterfall is perfect for a summer day.

Escondido Falls, Malibu

A two-tiered, 150-foot cascade pours down limestone. As one of the biggest waterfalls in Southern California, it is a must see. Be warned that you might need to do some rock hopping, but it’s worth it. Discover the magical pool of water for the ultimate relaxation.

Eaton Canyon Falls, Altadena

You are going to want good shoes for this one. You’ll pass through several streams, so choose shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Enjoy the beautiful shallows, but do not climb up to the razorback trail above the falls.

Solstice Canyon, Malibu

Walk through the ruins of two properties as you make your way to a 30-foot waterfall. With the hike not being too strenuous, it’s a great opportunity for a picnic.
